WildPlaces’ success and growth can be directly linked to the work of volunteers. Volunteers participate in service learning, land restoration, maintain our website, help with mailings, coordinate special events, serve as ambassadors for WildPlaces at events, educate the public, and much more.
In return, volunteers are rewarded with the knowledge that their work is meaningful and has contributed to preserving exceptional lands in the Southern Sierra. WildPlaces recognizes volunteers for their work and accomplishments. As well, volunteering also provides an opportunity to attend special events, meet new people, learn new skills, and work with a dedicated and knowledgeable staff.
To apply for a volunteer position, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, contact information, the type of volunteer work you want, and provide general information about your background and skills. Let us know if you have a particular area of interest. We will send you a volunteer application for you to complete and return.
Volunteer Opportunities Include
Help develop regional events and lands celebrations that raise funds and educate the community about our work. Help with grant research and other activities associated with fundraising. Help build support for our expanding education and volunteer programs.
WildPlaces grows many native plants for restoration projects and to give away to local residents. Help us keep this important project strong by volunteering in the native plant nursery that WildPlaces shares with the Forest Service.
Events & Outreach Volunteers
Join staff members in putting together enjoyable and educational events that demonstrate the significance of the conservation values WP is working to protect for future generations. Help organize events, write articles for the newsletter, or help develop and design community announcements.
Office and Administration Aid
A huge amount of behind-the-scenes action goes into WildPlaces work. Work with WP staff to develop mailings that spread the word about WP’s successes. Offer your technical skills to assist the organization with technical troubleshooting and general IT counseling.
The list doesn’t stop here
If you have another skill you think might be useful to WP, don’t hesitate to suggest it. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to involve the public and promote our mission.
