Two Spirits Gathering

WildPlaces is part of planning and a  host of the Two Spirit Gathering event, Temazcali sweat lodge and gathering specifically planned for indigenous LGBTQ people and to be held in weekend of April 15, 2017 during the spring break holidays.

Mehmet and Chico are blessed to have 12 acres in the foothills of the southern Sierra Nevada mountains within the Giant Sequoia National Monument just outside of Springville ÇA 93265. It is on this land that this ground-breaking ceremony will occur.

The natural qualities of this land on the Tule River make an amazing private sanctuary and ceremonial place that includes MEXICA Temazcall/sweat lodge , danza circle, land and water restoratip, and camping for up to 100 people. The Tule River runs right through the land and its importance both in the spiritual connection and action of the people make it an ideal setting.

The Two Spirit Gathering will include these activities and sweats:
• Temazcall/sweat lodge
• Danza Azteca and other native dancing
• Talking circle
• Giant Sequoia tree planting
• A sacred Alter for those  indigenous/Native LGBTQ people who have been forgotten or have died as well as for those heroes in our community.

Camping is available for up to a 100 people within 12 camping areas.

This Face Book group page is most important for recruiting and registering participants to help in all organizing facets. If you're free the week before and the weekend of and you are an ally of the Two Spirit community, please consider signing up for a volunteer role.
