Our Careers in the Wild program offers high school students an opportunity to explore job opportunities in a natural environment.

The program includes a series of seminars with Park Rangers, biologists, ecologists, Search and Rescue Technicians, eco-businesses, etc. Students will learn what it takes to forge a career in these little known fields.

Along with the seminars, the students in our program will be paid a small stipend to work on habitat restoration projects. After a period of time, they will become leaders on restoration event days and will be utilized to do more technical site preparation, implementation and follow-up work.

This program provides WildPlaces with trained staff, improving the quality of each project, and it offers young people some alternative careers to consider as they create their future.
